Tourist Information
We will be filling in this page with links to tourist information about the Twin Cities and Red Wing areas. There are lots of fun things to do around here, why not stay for a while and see the sights?
One of the first things we agreed that we wanted was to have the ceremony outdoors. We want an old-timey country feel to the whole thing, and so we're going to get out of the city and have the ceremony and reception in the Mississippi Valley area just south of the Twin Cities. There are a lot of things to do in this area, and we thought you might be interested in more information about things to do and see around there. So, here are a few links to websites with more information:
Mississippi Valley Partners Online Travel Guide
http://www.mississippi-river.org/index.html
This guide includes information on many of the towns and villages surrounding Lake Pepin - which is actually a very wide part of the Mississippi, not a lake. We're hoping to have activities in the Red Wing, Frontenac, Lake City region, but there are a lot of things to do and see all around the lake. The towns and villages are charming, there are many nice restaurants, bed & breakfasts, and antique shops, in addition to the natural beauty.
Lake City
This is one of our favorite small Minnesota towns. It's in a beautiful location right on Lake Pepin. There are a number of nice shops and restaurants, but it's not too "touristy."
Red Wing Visitors and Convention Bureau
This site includes just about everything you would want to know about the Red Wing area. It includes information on where to stay, things to do, and events. Whether you want to rock climb, shop for pottery and antiques, take a walk by the river, or catch a show, Red Wing has something for just about any interest.
