Frontenac State Park

From Twin Cities (1.5 hours)

  1. Choose One:
    • Minneapolis and West 52 South to 50 East (at New Trier) to Highway 61 South (right)
    • St. Paul Revisit Highway 61 South
  2. Go through Red Wing. Go another 15 miles or so to Frontenac.
  3. Turn Left at County Road 2. This is a "normal street" in the town, thought it is well marked.
  4. Go one mile and turn left at the park entrance (look for the sign)
  5. If you do NOT have a Minnesota State Parks annual vehicle pass, stop at the gatehouse and get a parking pass from our attendant.
  6. Drive up the hill to the parking lot.

From the Twin Cities

  1. Highway 61 South from the Twin Cities for about 1 hr 15 minutes (5 miles North of Red Wing)
  2. West on Highway 19, for 1 mile.
  3. Right in the Hobgoblin driveway. Hobgoblin is a big barn.

From Frontenac State Park

  1. Turn right on County Road 2 at the park exit
  2. Go about one mile to Highway 61, then turn right
  3. Take Highway 61 about 15 miles through Red Wing
  4. Turn Left at State Highway 19 and proceed less than a mile to the big barn on the right

Red Wing

  1. It's on Highway 61, between Hobgoblin and Lake City. You should have found it by now.

Lake City

  1. Take Highway 61 South past Red Wing, Lake City is about 5 miles past the town of Frontenac.
