Advantages and Disadvantages of Being A Heterosexual Married Couple

Married couples in the United States receive a lot of benefits. In addition to the well-known ones, like health insurance benefits, automatic inheritance, and hospital visiting rights, there are many, many obscure ones. We are hoping in this page to document some of these as they come up in our lives.

After long discussion, we have decided to use most of these rights when they are available to us. After all, we are not foes of marriage per se. Rather, we think that this suite of conveniences should be extended to GLBT couples and other consensual relationship constructions, including polygynous, polyandrous, and polygamous marriages.
